Knowing the elements that make up a NURBS curve in uMake can be helpful when working with the curves and understanding how they are put together. This video walks you through what control points are and how they can be used.

Curves drawn with the precision tool or the
pen tool can be edited after they are sketched.
 0:00:06.360,0:00:10.830
All curves created by these tools are what
 are known as NURBS Curves.
 0:00:10.830,0:00:16.080
This means they are a mathematically calculated
curve that exists between a set of points.
 0:00:16.080,0:00:19.000
We call these points control points.
 0:00:19.000,0:00:21.359
Try drawing a curve that looks like this.
 0:00:21.359,0:00:25.340
Now tap on it once to enter into edit mode.
 0:00:25.340,0:00:30.890
You can also double tap to select it, and
then tap "Edit" in the side menu.
 0:00:30.890,0:00:34.600
Once in edit mode you will notice control
 little points along the curve.
 0:00:34.600,0:00:39.370
You'll also notice these points have different
colors: Green points represent end points.
 0:00:39.370,0:00:42.809
A white point is a control point.
 0:00:42.809,0:00:48.659
A solid blue point indicates a connection
-- where two curves have connected.
 0:00:48.659,0:00:52.829
And if you tap on any point, you will notice
it will turn yellow and show you controls
 0:00:52.829,0:00:53.829
 to move it.
 0:00:53.829,0:00:57.850
We will cover how to edit curves in the next
 video.
 0:00:57.850,0:01:00.829
Between the points you will notice dashed
 lines.
 0:01:00.829,0:01:06.420
These are the 'Hull' of the curve, and basically
show the rough straight geometry between the
 0:01:06.420,0:01:08.880
 control points.
