These are uMake Education Edition's most popular features:
Discover a whole new world of 3D excitement that is both fun and easy to use
Learn how your designs can work and function within the real world
3D Print or render any design when you get ready to present them
uMake has provided me with a new tool to employ in the classroom that helps our pupils understand the principles of Computer Aided Design. uMake is built for exclusive use on tablet devices, allowing pupils to express their creativity when design 3D models with technology that they are excited by. The intuitive tools encourage pupils to design without barriers. uMake is an outstanding success in my classroom.
Still have questions? Here are few answers that might help:
The Education Edition version of uMake is almost identical to the original uMake. Some advanced features won’t be available. That said, uMake Education Edition is a very powerful design tool that lets you create complex 3D designs with ease.
With the EDU version you get:
What's currently not available in the EDU version:
We tried making the EDU version as affordable and fair as possible. If you are a school or an education organization, you’ll be able to get a 50% off discount if you purchase 20 copies or more through the ‘Apple Volume Program’. More details about Apple's Volume Purchase Program can be found here: https://volume.itunes.apple.com/us/store
Yes, you can. Once purchased you can use uMake on up to 5 different devices. In case you have one iPad, uMake can be used by multiple users - just log out and sign in with a different account.
uMake works without the need of Apple Pencil. That said, we think the Apple Pencil is a great accessory to have for a great drawing and precise drawing experience.
uMake is a design tool, but not a 3D printing preparation tool. You can create 3D models for 3D printing in uMake by exporting your designs to STL or OBJ files, but to print them in 3D, you would have to refine them in 3D printing software, such as MeshMixer.
We have a few courses online that you can use to teach your students or learn by yourself with ease. If you have suggestions or even better - if you’ve created your own curriculum, we would love to collaborate and share yours with other teachers out there.
