Translated Captions on Help Videos
Our help videos now include captions in the following languages: English, Chinese Simplified, French, German, Spanish.
Other languages such as Japnese, Russian, Portuguese (Brasil) and Chinese traditional are translated using auto-translation at the moment.
We added the ‘Knowledge Base’ and ‘FAQ’ to the ‘Learn’ tab for your convenience.
Bug fixes and improvements
Fillet / Chamfer for 3D objects (with planer surfaces)
Now you’ll be able to use the fillet/chamfer tool on 3D objects. Note that for now, it will work only on 3D objects with planer (flat) surfaces. Support for 3D surfaces will be available soon.
Updated Help Videos
We updated all of our help videos. The help videos can be accessed from the “Learn” tab (scroll down to see them) and from the Help Widget in the editor.

Conflicted CopiesIn case we find a conflict in versions of the file, we will automatically create a backup version. This way, we will make sure that your changes will always be saved and secured.
Lifetime PlanWe now offer a one-time payment option. Now you can get uMake without a subscription.
Fillet / Chamfer
2D SHAPES ONLY: Now you’ll be able to round or bevel sharp edges using the Fillet / Chamfer tool.
Using the ‘Precision’ tool, you’ll be able to define the dimensions of an object while sketching it.
uMake now supports 2019 SketchUp files.
We fixed many bugs and issues you’ve brought to our attention. Most importantly bugs related to normals of surfaces.
We improved the way you can select objects. Now when you triple tap on an object, it will select all its neighboring curves and surfaces. A second triple tap will extend the selection even further to other neighboring curves and surfaces.
Faster Undo / Redo
Double tap with two fingers to Undo; Double tap with three fingers to Redo.

This new exciting update is all about 3D surfaces. You can now sketch directly on 3D surfaces and create holes! This feature has been in the works for some time and we’re very excited to be able to provide it. Additionally, we’re introducing a new tab that will help you discover new features and tutorials.Sketching on a 3D surface with Precision toolNow you’re able to sketch with the precision tool on 3D surfaces. To do that, select the surface you want to draw on and choose “Sketch on Surface”. For now, you won’t be able to edit the curves after you finished sketching.Creating holes on a 3D surfaceWhen you sketch closed shapes on 3D surfaces, you will be able to erase these closed surfaces and creating holes. “For You” TabWe added a new tab that would make it easier for you to find out about new tutorials, features, updates and more! Your feedback is always important to us.
This time we focused on adding a fundamental feature:
Pivot point of a selected object(s)This feature would allow more precise commands of moving, rotating and scaling objects. Tap once on the pivot point (blue dot in the center of the object) and then drag it to change its location. Tap “Done” when finished.

What will 2019 bring? Many powerful 3D tools for you! In 2018 we focused on bringing you fundamental features and enhancing the sketching experience. In 2019 we will extend our core features and include the following new ones: Robust Sketch Planes Now you can edit, lock and save sketch planes with ease. This will give you the freedom to create more complex designs using more customized sketch planes. Better Snap tools and guidelines We changed the way Snap tools work and added additional guidelines to make it easier for you to sketch. Take a look at the ‘Settings’ panel to see the ‘Snap’ settings. More languages! We now support Italian, Russian and Korean! More languages to come with our next update.
